After exploring beliefs, another question inevitably appears: what happens when those beliefs translate into power?

Porque las creencias, por sí solas, no transforman realidades. Lo hacen cuando se amplifican a través de decisiones, instituciones y estructuras de autoridad. Ahí es donde el impacto se vuelve colectivo.

Because beliefs, on their own, don't transform realities. They do so when they are amplified through decisions, institutions and structures of authority. That's where the impact becomes collective.

Power doesn't create morality. It exposes it. It amplifies the beliefs that already exist —for better or worse— and makes visible the incoherences that could once be hidden.

Una de las señales más claras de deterioro sistémico no es el abuso visible, sino la normalización del abuso. Cuando frases como "así funciona el sistema", "no hay de otra", "siempre ha sido así" dejan de incomodar, el problema ya no es solo quien ejerce el poder, sino quienes lo aceptan sin revisión.

One of the clearest signs of systemic deterioration is not visible abuse, but the normalization of abuse. When phrases like "that's how the system works," "there's no other way," "it's always been this way" stop being uncomfortable, the problem is no longer only those who exercise power, but those who accept it without examination.

El punto incómodoThe uncomfortable point

Explorar el poder no se trata solo de observar a quienes lo concentran.

Exploring power is not only about observing those who concentrate it.

También implica preguntarse: ¿dónde cedo mi responsabilidad? ¿Qué poder legitimo con mi silencio? ¿Qué decisiones acepto porque me benefician indirectamente?

It also means asking: where do I surrender my responsibility? What power do I legitimize with my silence? What decisions do I accept because they benefit me indirectly?

El poder no se sostiene solo desde arriba. Se sostiene también desde la comodidad, el miedo y la inercia.

Power is not sustained only from above. It is also sustained from comfort, fear and inertia.

Si una estructura no puede ser cuestionada sin consecuencias desproporcionadas, el problema no es la crítica: es el poder.

If a structure cannot be questioned without disproportionate consequences, the problem is not the criticism: it's the power.

Ese criterio aplica a gobiernos, instituciones, empresas, comunidades y también a dinámicas personales.

That criterion applies to governments, institutions, companies, communities and also to personal dynamics.

El poder no es, por sí mismo, el enemigo. La ausencia de límites y responsabilidad sí lo es. Las sociedades no se definen solo por quién tiene poder, sino por qué tipo de poder están dispuestas a sostener, qué límites consideran no negociables y qué costos están dispuestas a asumir para protegerlos.

Power is not, in itself, the enemy. The absence of limits and responsibility is. Societies are not defined only by who holds power, but by what kind of power they are willing to sustain, what limits they consider non-negotiable, and what costs they are willing to assume to protect them.

Cuando el poder deja de incomodar, ya empezó a erosionar lo que dice proteger.

When power stops being uncomfortable, it has already begun to erode what it claims to protect.
